The top women entrepreneurs changing the restaurant sphere

Learn more about the females who are making a difference in the restaurant scene.

Male chefs and entrepreneurs have long been the only ones credited for the development of upper class eateries. However, as times show, the systematic gender gap that would once be prominent within the restaurant business is coming to an end. In fact, several of the top-ratedrestaurants in London are owned and managed by London’s most famous women entrepreneurs. Renowned personalities are frequently working in this field, as seen with Sally Greene, who has put a great deal of thought and effort into the extensive remodelling of the restaurant, situated in one of London’s most iconic neighborhoods. The restaurant’s design tries to create a sense of intimacy and comfort, similar to a private country-house. The venue manages to incorporate marble, dark wood and parquet floors without being too overwhelming, helping visitors feel like guests, instead of customers.

The restaurant sector is to this day largely ruled by men. Having said that, famous women entrepreneurs are now taking charge in the fight for gender equality in the industry. For decades, women have played an important part in the restaurant industry without always receiving recognition for it. In fact, there have been only six women across the world to be presented with the honor of three Michelin stars. One of them is the Italian chef Nadia Santini, who has held the three stars for over two decades. As the head of one of Italy’s best restaurants, she is well known for combining authentic French cooking with traditional Italian recipes. Her original way of cooking marked a new age for the restaurant business in general, drawing the attention of food experts from all all over the world.

Despite the fact that the restaurant industry has not been the most welcoming towards women, we are noticing some positive changes in terms of equal rights and more inclsuivity in the field. Female entrepreneurs have successfully fought their way to the top as a way to prove that females are just as capable as men at running the kitchens of the world’s best restaurants.

When it comes to successful female entrepreneurs, we must mention the influence Thomasina Miers has had on the UK casual dining scene. As the founder of a group of Mexican restaurants, her work has been recognized by numerous contemporary Mexican chefs. Her eateries are considered as probably the best places for genuine, delicious street food at a price that everybody can afford. Apart from being a famous restaurant owner, this woman is also a food author who has got multiple cookbooks published. Her work has had a significant impact on people's perception of healthy food, having introduced recipes that are both delicious and nutritious. At a time when consumers are becoming more conscious of the quality of the food they are buying, female entrepreneurs are setting the trends for healthy eating.
